MIRIMAR BUS DEPOT
Precision concrete cutting and full structural demolition in one of Wellington's most recognisable transport heritage sites.
Concrete Cutting . Structural Demolition . Hazardous Material Removal . Site Clearance
PROJECT OVERVIEW
The Miramar Bus Depot presented a complex demolition challenge — a large-scale concrete structure requiring careful sequencing, precision cutting, and coordination around an active surrounding suburb.
Priority Demolition was brought in to manage the full scope: from initial structural assessment through to site clearance, delivering the project safely, on schedule, and with minimal disruption to the local area.
SCOPE OF WORKS
• Reinforced concrete slab cutting and removal
• Structural wall demolition
• Concrete core drilling
• Diamond wire sawing (if applicable)
• Hazardous material identification and removal (asbestos, lead paint, etc.)
• Debris sorting and disposal
• Site remediation and final clearance
KEY CONSTRAINTS
• Heritage-sensitive surroundings requiring careful facade management (if applicable)
• Active neighbouring properties — noise and dust controls mandatory
• Tight programme with no room for remobilisation
• [Any other site-specific challenge]
OUR APPROACH
Priority Demolition conducted a full pre-demolition survey before a single cut was made. Structural drawings were reviewed, load paths mapped, and the cutting sequence planned to ensure controlled, progressive demolition from [top-down / perimeter-in / etc.].
Diamond blade concrete cutting was used throughout for precision — keeping vibration low and giving clean, predictable break lines. All concrete waste was sorted on-site for recycling, reducing landfill and keeping the project environmentally responsible.
